Someone tried to scam us - what nerve!

BEWARE of this scam on Craigs List!

Some of the red flags for me were:
- they did not use the insurance company's email - if it was work related, they would have emailed from work, not from two different personal email accounts.
- they did not reference any local addresses - like their new office address and the local decorator they would be working with, when I asked them.
- no response when I let them know I needed the money as a cashiers check in the exact amount of rent and security deposit, that we would have to meet them in person before renting to them and that we were having a friend in London check them out.
- THEY WERE NOT WHO THEY SAID THEY WERE!

I want the 12 month lease to start on the 5th December 2009, I also want to notify you that I have in the mean time arrange with an interior decorator (Agent) who will be handling the purchase of furniture's, entertainment system and other appliances that will be needed in the property, they will as well be in charge of moving down my luggage's down to the states. So the check for $7,500 will be sent over to you which is a relocation grant by my employer.All you need do is to deduct the deposit of $5100 and forward the difference to my Decorators so I can have the place prepared before my arrival. Iowa Sate Fair Parade

2009 STATE FAIR PARADE

The 2009 Iowa State Fair Parade will be held in downtown Des Moines on Wednesday, August 12 at 6:15 p.m. Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson returns home to lead nearly 200 floats, animal, novelty and performing units.
The parade starts at the State Capitol and marches west on Grand to 15th Street. A viewing area accessible to disabled persons is located at the northwest corner of Sixth Avenue and Grand.
Highlights of the gala event will be re-broadcast on parade night throughout central Iowa on KDSM FOX 17 beginning at 10 p.m.
