The Des Moines Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure raises funds to support the Komen Foundation mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at 36.

Iowa Sate Fair Parade

2009 STATE FAIR PARADE

The 2009 Iowa State Fair Parade will be held in downtown Des Moines on Wednesday, August 12 at 6:15 p.m. Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson returns home to lead nearly 200 floats, animal, novelty and performing units.
The parade starts at the State Capitol and marches west on Grand to 15th Street. A viewing area accessible to disabled persons is located at the northwest corner of Sixth Avenue and Grand.
Highlights of the gala event will be re-broadcast on parade night throughout central Iowa on KDSM FOX 17 beginning at 10 p.m.

Garage Sale signs - MIA

Some body stole our garage sale signs. I made some signs and had Con-man take them over to someone's house. Two of them were stolen !! I can't believe it ... who steals garage sale signs anyway ? If you are the person who stole out signs, or if you see a sign that looks like this - bring it back to us !
